Welcome

Acculturation is the phenomenon that groups of people from different cultures who meet in a country take over cultural features from each other but remain distinct (Kottak, 2007).
Acculturation project at a glance
Foreign students are being prepared online for their studies at a Dutch higher education institution.
Three ways of acculturation in this project:
- content-wise (deficiencies, adaptation, prior knowledge, etc.)
- getting to know the local academic culture (lectures, working style, etc.)
- starting a social network (of Dutch and other foreign students)
